Nick Harris is a cinematographer and filmmaker from the UK, currently based in New York City. Focused on documentary work, he has a particular love for the unpredictability and unique intimacy of vérité shooting and is most compelled by character-driven stories. More than anything, he enjoys meeting people in unfamiliar places, and translating those encounters and the stories they reveal to the screen is the most exciting thing in the world to him.

He began pursuing filmmaking after completing an undergraduate degree in history, and most recently finished a one-year documentary program in New York. Having directed and shot a number of his own short films, as well as serving other short documentary and narrative productions as Director of Photography, he’s now supporting projects as a freelancer in Camera or G&E, as he continues to develop his craft. Recently, he's worked as an AC, DIT and Grip on projects for HBO, CNN, NBC, Amazon, and Youtube TV.

Filmmaking has so far led him to sleeping on the pool table of a bar in rural Nevada with a skunk for a roommate, driving a group of elementary schoolers 500 miles in a day for a surprise graduation appearance, and shooting in the New York State Senate Chamber in Albany. He’s just getting started, and can't wait to continue to chase these experiences behind the camera.
